NatWest Group has announced the appointment of Scott Marcar as group chief information officer.
Subject to regulatory approval, Marcar will start in the role on 5 September and report directly to chief executive Alison Rose.
Marcar replaces Simon McNamara, who is taking on a new role as senior advisor with the bank holding company.
Marcar joins from Deutsche Bank where he served as chief information officer. With over 25 years of technology experience, he has led teams across a range of financial services functions including corporate and investment banking, risk, financial crime, infrastructure, data, and architecture.
Alison Rose commented: “I’m delighted to welcome Scott to NatWest Group.
“We are very much looking forward to working with him and benefitting from his experience and expertise as we support our customers and communities as a relationship bank in an increasingly digital world.”
She added: "I’m delighted that Simon, a hugely valued member of my team, will continue to work with the group as a senior advisor."
